HOW TO QUALIFY

HAVE A NEED - Are you living in substandard, inadequate, overcrowded housing, or otherwise able to demonstrate a need?
EDUCATION - Applicants must be willing to attend Homebuyer Education and Financial Peace University courses.
SWEAT EQUITY - Sweat equity is at the heart of our homeownership program and the 400 required hours are primarily done by working on the construction of your future home.
ABILITY TO PAY - Families must have stable, verifiable income sufficient to support a monthly mortgage payment of around $500-$600 and must not exceed the income guidelines listed below. ​
CREDIT CHECK - Your credit does not have to be perfect, but we do look for at least one year of stable rent and utility payments and work history.

​Once initially approved, 50 sweat equity hours are required to be completed before moving on in the process.

Every potential homeowner will be connected with a Habitat Nurturer to follow and assist them through the process.

​​For families who qualify, it takes approximately a year and a half to complete the requirements for an interest-free Habitat home.
